It measures 6 to 7 millimeters thick at the thickest area so it is very thin for its size.It has heavy grinding on the stem edges for half the point. Here is a G10 Folsom that hales from Buhl Idaho. It is 1 5/8" long and was procured legally many years ago. A friend of mine found this when he was a wading a stream as a young boy.The flutes run almost to the very end on each side. Dwain says it is made of Yellow/ Gray /white Agate. The secondary flaking if phenominal and it is as it should be ,super thin! I have been looking through many books and I have not seen a Folsom From Idaho and to top it off, it is a G10 made of Agate. He would say that alot of people sent him points that they thought were Midlands and he would not paper them as such. He claimed this point is a very true type to the form of Midland. It is made of a Agate and is completely translucent. It was found by Jess Hill. The point is paper thin and shows micro Folsom type flaking on the edge. Carlos Tatum says: A thin well made Simpson projectile point which is absolutely classic for form and symetry and which apperars to has several distal end re-sharpenings. Subjects exhibits small flaring auricles that are moderately smoothed with the nice secondary presure work present along both lateral blades edges. Manufactured from high grade coastal Plain chert which is moderately patinated and exhibits a beautiful golden patina. Check out this huge 5 1/4" Hardin that was found in Monroe County Illinois. I will provide the finders name to the buyer.You know how hard it is to get Hardins over 4" and then 5" becomes Museum quality. This hardin shows superb flaking and is made of a Burlington chert. It has the tiniest flee nick on the ear that was ancient and has been touched up by the ancient indian. It shows the original cortex on the one side. Some would say it distracts from the point, but I say it is a huge Hardin this is exactly the way it was made thousands of years ago.It comes with a Dwain Rogers COA and will include the newly introduced grading certifcate by Daltonman.
